Hello blog at 2:30am

I dunno I just felt in need to blog right now, Katimavik is coming very very soon, I still haave so much shit to do... so many desicions, gheeeeez. I've told a few people about this blog so far but I'm  not giving away the link until I leave. Once I'm gone I'm gone. It's no coming home the next day to bitching or anything like that. This is my blag and I can state what I want.. right? Well I know I can't make this emotional and express my feelings or emotions and all that jibber jabber on here because this is suppost to be a Katimavik blog and "important" stuff.. but things I find important can just hurt other people... It's very hard to explain because one day many people will be reading.

Anyways, I got an email from my Project Leader whos going to be living in St. Pierre Joyls, sick right? Gabrielle I believe her name is. Going back to the youtube videos that I found one day that shows my future house.. I asked the guy who posted them what was his favourite part of that place because he is basically doing the same thing I will be doing soon and he said the PL so thats pretty exciting. She said we can call her for anything, questions, to hear her voice, discuss music, ANYTHING, that was pretty sick. Her first language is French which is interesting but hopefully there is no barrier.. well there shouldnt be anyways.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh yeaaaah, 3 weeks to go and I'm on my way, soo much to do, work ending on Sunday, going to be sad :( but glad at the same time but I will def miss some people. Sally left today to go to Peru which is exciting but yeaah... that's all for now, I'll be back with greater news sometime in the future.

Hello World, lots of updates

So it's really been a while since I've posted on here eh... way to fail. But anyways I am back in action with lots to say so this will probably be lengthy. For those who know me knows I love reading long emails and such so picture it as a letter to you, reader of my blog. I'll even put paragraphs! To help the eyes out a little.

I've been so busy with work lately it has been so crazy. I've successfully been given 4-5 shifts a week which is a change from 2-4 and my shifts last averaging 10 hours, no breaks remember! We lost one girl who was a pretty cool chick and she had lots of shifts and was there longer than me so I've been given her shifts basically. The schedule is fucked though and it always is. Seems like they do not know how to schedule people properly or is too cheap... I'm going to go with the second one. Milestones is great though, great people and good experiences and lessons learnt but is def has some downs. Anyways I told my boss .. well reminded him about the program I was going to do and of course he barely remember so I had to give him the whole Katimavik speal and what it is, what I'll do, blah blah blah and he thinks it's a great oppurtunity and totally understand why I have to leave. I ask to take a leave because I do plan on coming back but he was all like "nooo we don't do that yadda yadda I'll have to terminate you then re-hire you" which is alright since I have a job waiting for me when I get back.

For people who have no idea on what I do or where I work... I'm a linecook at Milestones. Milestones at Yorkdale that is so it is super busy allll the time and stressfull but it is better than minimum wage or retail so it's great in that way. My section on the line is called Pantry, we do most appetizers, salads, soups, most of the lunch menu and deserts... oh yesss deserts. But anyways, all of my shifts have been weekends which suck because it's been harder to see Andie when she has the weekends off but weve been trying. I usually get Mon-Wed off so it isn't that bad.

With work it's been so hard to do things I actually been needing to do for my file on Katimaroute. One day i got a call saying my contract wasn't in and I needed it to b in asap, when in my understanding it was due sometime in June. Apparently I was wrong... so guess who had to rush that in that day! Then the whole mix up with the Toronto Police. How hard it is to friging get a criminal record/vunerable sector check? Like seriously. My instructions were to 1. print paper 2. fill it out 3. give it to the police station. Check check and nope. They wouldn't even talk to me or gve me answers they just gave me a little piece of paper with the website on it and said go to the website. I'm like seriously.... I wasn't told to do this for nothing, so listen, but nope.  I asked if I had to go to the main Police station alllllllllllll the way downtown but they said they would say the same thing. Another call to Maria about my problems had to happen again and it went to Emily Marten which is a big deal. They both couldn't believe it but told me to go to the one downtown. I live uptown Toronto, so North York and going downtown is a good bus and subway ride down about a hour and a half and guess who did that on the hottest day if the year so far because I had no time because of work! That's right. Waited in the hugeee line, and paid the 16 dollar whatever fee then was told it takes 6-8 weeks.. no exceptions, first come first serve. My face dropped, my heart sunk and I was in panic mode. I LEAVE IN 4 WEEKS! I'm tyring to bargain my way saying stuff along the lines of, well these were my instructions I need this to go I've been waiting for this oppurtunity for years blah blah blaaah, you think they gave a crap? And to think I want to be in the force someday... wow. Some people are just so rude. Anyways, walking out instantly calling Emily, tears running down my face and sweat just pouring off my head because it is that hot outside, it goes to voicemail. I quickly explain the situation and tell her to give me a call back ASAP. Three days later when I'm in midst depression because of me thinking my oppurtunity is ruined, I have to wait until the next January to go, etc, etc Emily calls and tells me it's fine just call the volunteer office and tell them and whoever is at home can just mail the papers to Katimavik when they get them. I was like YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS :D ! HAPPINESSS! LIFE SAVER! I believe it was a Saturday... or late Friday so I waited until Monday to call the office. They said the same and I was so relievvvvvved, wooooooo!

Besides all that, I had my French evaluation done... I'm not sure if I mentioned this before but YEAH! I was so shocked it wasn't a huge fail because I did kind of understand the questions and the lady was speaking slowly and she would ask me and I would answer then kinda translate what I think she said. Oh and believe me I gave her a warning before we started about how horrible my French is. Anyways that made me feel really good.

Sooo far I've found three people in my group. A new one added me after the other two have. First Frenchie!  I just really hope my group isn't awkward or weird or just not chill. I'm very down to earth, laid back and straight up so hopefully we will all get along. I can't judge right away right?

It is sooooooooooooooooooooooooo hottttttttttttttttttt outttttttttttsiiiiiiiiiiide, hello 33 degress 43 with the humidity. Yeah I KNOW! Sucks Wonderland closes at 6 or else I would be swimming today. My mom really needs to put in the A/C because this really sucks. Yesterday Leen, Andie, Soph, Val, Nuno and his cousin went to the beach! we got there at like 8 so we didn't really enjoy the hotness of the day or lots of daylight. Hopefully we can plan a legit day and go and I'll have lots of sunscrean! I think one of my arms is darker than the other from driving so much.. greatttt taaaan.

Anyways less than a month until departure, soooooo much to do, last day of work on the 20th which is next week! Crazyness!
