Time is flying!

So were already over half way through billeting and time is just a flyingggg. It's been great but the 7 oclock wakeup has been getting to me and ive been taking a lot more naps lately lol When were done chores at aroiund 8 I usually take a nap until ten and then start work when everyone does. Feeding calves has been good but just getting more and more lazier everytime lol but since the last time I've updated we probably moved about 4 calves to the barn outside and 3 new ones were born including one yesterday afternoon.

One day we had a party for Marinus' wifes birthday and a whole bunch of people were over and we had dinner in a style were everyone gets their own burner and little frying pan and theres food options all ovder the table to you take what you want and cook for yourself, it was pretty neat. His wife is super cool and nice and then after the 3 of us had a roman candle fight, first thing I said was "I DONT WANNA GET HIT" and the first firework heads straight for my face and I had to pull some matrix shit and ducked! It was super fun though and so much more has happened.

Last night we went with Marinus to the beer league baseball game hes in and I got to play some too and our team won 30-10 in a 5 inning game lollll everyone just drinks beer and has a great time then we all went to a bar and had some laughs. Claudia and I met a lot of new people which were so friendly and we might be seeing them at the St. Malo festival coming up in a few weeks and some of them well be partying with some.

One night we went to a hosue partying which was msotly outside with a bon fire and loooooooots of beer pong! Me and Claudia whooooooped ass and were champs even though I had to drink all the beer because she doesnt drink beer so I was fucked lol, came home at 2ish to give birth to a calf which was LOVELY. No complaints!

Weve beeen doing so much and going around and visiting people and we been to St. Pierre twice already and took one of the pickup trucks, once for Lowens birthday and another jsut to visit and both times most of our group was there so it was sick!! Martyna, Spencer, JD, Danielle was there the first time and then the second everyone but JD but Gerard instead was there so that was cool too! I went to the house and got my passport because we might be going to the states sometime next week.

This weekend were going to Winnipeg with Marinus and a bunch of buddys and celebrating some brithdays and going to a bunch of bars and even a strip club!! On Saturday were even going to the place where you do a bunch of physical activities like wake boarding, rock climbing and shit so that sounds fun and then a bar and strip club after sooooo im excited! Its gonna be so nice not waking up at 7am and we get to sleep in and just parttttyyyyy

im pretty stoked for this weekend so hopefully its good and after this weekend I know that the week will just fly by then were off to Metis fest if its still happening next weekend and thats an all weekend overnight thing with the other groups too so yeaaaaaaaaaaaaah

having a blast, and a countdown has started, so excited!

Billeting!!!

Soooooo last night Claudia and I arrived at our billet house and we got picked to go to the Hop Family!!! I was so excited becasue it is the farthest away so we don't go to work but everyone else does and we also learn sooooo many new things because they own a diary farm. I was kinda nervous because I have never seen the family or anything and I had no idea what it was going to be like and stuff so I was like AHHHHH! So at around 3:30pm my billet mom person came supppperr early and Claudia wasnt even home yet so i was like freaking out because we was early but Gab ended up telling her that it was too early and she was totally ccooool about it and came back at 6. Aidan was the first one to leave and we were the second last because Lowen is just going down the street to Rollys house. After she came I was working on things I had to do before I left so I was rushing so much and then i finally started packing. I HATTTEE packing and I probably packed way to much but that's okay what else is new lolllll

On the way to Tolstoi which is about 30-45 mins away from St. Pierre and 7 miles away from the states border, we just talked about where were from, etc, etc. We first stopped at Justinas brothers house for about 10 mintues then we went to the farm and met everyone. Burt is super niceeee and the house is a bit cluttered but really great and they have soooooooo much land~! Over 1400 ACRES! We chilled for a bit after settling in, me and Claudia decided to share a room with the two bed but there are other rooms and even a trailer to stay in if we wanted. Then Burt gave us a tour is the barns and everything, and wooooooooooow I was blown away. First of all we had to put on huge rubber boots which was good and then we walked through and there are so much cows and the robotic milker is sooooooooooooo coooooooooool and theres over 100 calves and they are SOOO CUTEEEEEEEEEE OH EM GEEE haahahaaa!!

I love it, they have so much space and machinery and animals and a niceeee dog I love it! We didnt do much but went to bed shortly after to be up at 7. Got up at 7 which we have to do every morning to do chores which are basically feeding the calves. We had to put on coveralls and huge boots so that the mud and manure doesnt get all over us, then we fed the calves and mixed the milk to feed them and fed them with bottles SOO CUTEEEEE and yeaaaah! After I cut the grass and learnt how to work that machine and later on I got to work one of the HUGEEEEE ass tractors and the bobcat to do other stuff. I loveee ittt!!!!! There Hops are sooooooooooooooooooo nicccce and offered us a truck to use whenever and their laptop even though I brought mine but its super fucked and wont work omg :@ but anywayssss yeah we did so mnuch and went to a farmers market and grocery shopping and yeah it was great,. Justina even gave us 50bucks each that Katimavik gave them and not suppost to give us but did anyways.

They have two sons and a daughter but their daughter is married and lives off somewhere, one is married but wife is in Winnipeg for school so hes always alone and also works on the farm and then the other one lives here. AJ is nice but Marinus is the nicest and invited us to go to parties which is one tonight and he bought is both a CARTON of ciggarettes and i felt like shit but yeaah and gonna buy booze and all this stuff and one weekend were going to Winnipeg to party and go to the bars and clubs! I have a feeling this is gonna be great just the only thing is we have to be up at 7 to feed the calves but after on the weekends we can relax but yeaaah. They have to be fed twice a day once at 7am and once at around 6 pm but yeaaah/. The Milking is done 24 hours a day electronically by robot machines and thats pretty cool. Before they used to spend 6 hours a day just milking cows but now they have to much time to do other stuff so its great.

Billeting is great and I look forward to what there is to come. We have options like horseback riding, shooting guns at clay pigeons and targets, quading, just so much, but yeah its only been like 24 hours so thats all for now! Hope the other people are enjoying their billet houses!

beeennnn a long timeeee

Sooooo last time I updated was after frog follies and so much has happened since then! The week after I worked by myself because Lowen was house managing with Gerard. Work is sooooo intense like lots of labour work, digging, moving heavy things etc but its for a great cause like restoring the musuem and the outsides of it. Anyways that week was pretty hard but the weekend was alright. We did activities and had KCC and right now I cant remember what we did wowwwwww ill get back on that another timeee but anywaysssssss

the following week Martyna and I were house managers!!!! Gotta say I enoyed it big time because it was so chill and def a huge change from working my ass offf. the week before hand all I remember really is coming home, showering, then passing out until supper was ready. The first days were stressfull because we were incharge of meals and everything and the cleaning, making bread, everything around the house. The first few days we just did huge clean ups so the rest of the week we didnt have to focus so much on th cleaning part because making supper for so many people takes a lot of time. Bread takes sooooooooooo much time too because there are 3 waiting periods and each of them can take an hour. I think two of the suppers our bread overlapped tht period and it was kinda in the way and we had to continue it after supper. Great thing about cooking though is that you dont have to do the dishes! Theres the housemanager schedule that repeats for dinner dishes and sweeping and cleanup of the table and putting away the food. Our meals were planned ahead of time which was easier but our meals were apparently really good and everyone enojoyed them which was great. Some nights we did wing it because we were so tired of cooking by the end of the week but it was still good. The cleaning only took us like one-two hours a day which was good because it was simple things because we worked hard the other days trying to do it.

On the wednesday and thursday I think it was we all volunteered at Roseau River Provincial park thinkin it was like a festival or somehing but we actually just painted the park and the bleachers, outhouses and allllll that stuff. there was looooootttttssss so paint so the first day we only did the primer coat and Marisol took us that day so that was good. It was fun but I got covvvvvvvered in paint so I ruined my black slushy pants and my katimavik shirt but I wasnt the only one. I tried washing it and soakin it overnight in vinegar, cleaner, all the hard shit and went through the wash too but nope. Whatever adds character! My only shirt for 6 months wooooooooo lol The Thursday Martyna and I didnt bother to go because we had so much shit to do and grocery shop for the next few days and such so we stayed home. That morning I woke up at around 6am with the biggggggggest cramps of my life so I was up from then to about 8:30 when everyone left then I past out cuz I took like 5 advil and I woke up at 1:30pm sooooo shocked cuz I was just gonna sleep until 10 or something and I saw Martyna sitting at th computer and im like WHYYY DIDNT YOU WAKE UPP I FEEEL SOOOOO BADD and shes like ohhh no worries I finished everything :) soooo then I went and made bread and yeaaah felt like shit but there wasnt much to do anyways and she kinda wished she went painting but I was so glad I stayed home. Anyways on the weekend we were informd we had to pack lunches for saturday and sunday for when we went out to places so it wasnt that bad people just got sandwiches, fruit and stuff lol

The week was great and the weekend was good too because everyday we went out and did something. On Saturday we went berry picking n the morning and to steinbach in the afternoon to some pioneer festival also chilled with the Stienbach group bcause they volunteered at the festival. Sunday we went to Winnipeg and went to the St. Boniface musuem and also saw the St. Boniface group because we parked at their house. It was cool because Gab gave us a map after and we all went dowtown Winnipeg and did stuff and walked around. I also got my nipppppppplesssss pierceddddd wooooooooooooooooo. kinda expensive but so worth it because the guy was soooooooooooo niceeee and I felt sooooooooo comfortable with him it was crazy!!! I was so hesitate on doing it but everyone convinced me so I did. It was cool that Danielle got her eyebro pierced after I told her it would look good on her, Gerard got his ears and JD got his spaced to a 10g I think i dunnnno. Lowen stuck around and Martyna and Spencer went off and did their own thig. Everyone else was off doing their own thing too. We had to meet at Folkorama our next activity at 5pm but we were like 10 mintus late but it was alright. I walked both ways on the way down I went with Spencer and Martyna and on the way back with Lowen and Danielle who both had bikes so I tred to walk fast but yeaaahh. The folkorana was good we went to the Carribean pavillion and watched dances and performances and saw venders and had carribean food which also didnt settle in my stomach so we had to stop on the way back to the house at a coffee shop because I was dying but ANYWAYSSS it was a good day :) I was debating between 1 or 2 piercings but im glad I got both.

Yesterdaaaay mondaaay was a holiday so we went to Gimly to the Icelandtic festival, theres was a parade and a bunch of things which we had to find because the fstival was spread all over the town but it was a good day. I got fuckin burnt to shit but I didnt even feel hot while everyone else was boiling. yeah i was a bangs, necklace, tanktop and lots burn like evrywhere on my upper body well not everywhere but you get the point whoever is reading this.

Today Lowen and I worked super hard in the sun and dug out stuff and cleaned the suger shack once again and we didnt take a break so we finished everything and got to leave at 1 :) Rolly wasnt there but another guy on the council was and gave us instructions. The sun was super hot but we both battled through it even though were probably the most burnt in the group lol

We have lots of fun stuff coming up so ill just have to write about it another time!

p.s got mail today, made me really happy :D love recieving mail
